With a simple, cheap, economical camera like my Canon Powershot A70, I never intend for my photos to appear on A.net. However after browsing through some of my various shots a while ago, I decided to select a distinct few, touch them up, and try my luck on A.net.
They were rejected, but could someone suggest any other ways to edit my shots that could possibly deem them suitable for a.net standards? Or should I consider investing in a new camera and gather some more knowledge about photography?
The size is really awkward. A.net doesn't like the skyscraper look. They prefer the 3:2 ratio (in this case 2:3). Also the motive is most likely related to the composition. It doesn't look too pleasing with too much dead space on the left, meanwhile the right side was cut short (same with top/bottom).
Both concerns, might be fixable...just depends on the original photo.

I don't agree with this. Current size is 768 x 1036. Crop the height to 1024 and you should be OK size-wise. A.net accepts photos with a 4:3 aspect ratio -- that's how a lot of mine are, including this:
You still have to deal with the motive on this shot: I suspect the window needs to be levelled and centred in the frame.
Shot no. 4 also needs a bit of cw rotation to level the horizon.
I would persevere, however. The A70 has its limitations of course, but I have quite a few on here that I took with its successor, the A85. As far as I can tell the image quality is the same with both models.

Thanks for the very useful insight... I will definately apply all of these suggestions and let you know of the outcome. Being able to pin-point what needs to be edited is not easy for me, so this is appreciated. And I'm sure this will all become familiar to me over-time...

Thanks for pointing that out as well. I came across hundreds of photos on A.net that photographers specified using the A70, which gave me a bit of confidence.
