When uploading shall I mark the hybrid or special paint categories?

There was a huge debate on the Emirates planes...

What is the rule?

I uploaded a LH744 with soccer nose without selecting special category and it was accepted but the categorry was added either by screener or editor.

Thanks

Juan APM

Hi Juan,

I believe it is the special paint category as this nose isnt applied to the entire fleet.

Hybrid category would be correct.

Sorry is it just me, or is this confusing?

Anyway, good to see that sometimes categories or information are set by screeners. I knew this happened sometimes (have had it myself with a pic that was in Johan's queue and was accepted "with warning") - so why does it not happen as a rule? Or is it not that simple?

Hang on a bit here, the thread started some time by Invader said something different:

Categories "Special" And "Hybrid" (by Invader Jan 19 2006 in Aviation Photography)#ID216276

It says 'special' there, even showing a picture of a LH a/c with the nose.

Please clarify this.

Guys.

It seems like there is a need for some clarification here - that thread referred to above, which suggested those changes to the category definitions, created a considerable amount of feedback, not all congratulatory. Some points were left unanswered and hanging in the air.

Then there appeared to be no changes made to the help menus on the upload page, which implied (and as far as I know still implies), that the old categorisations still apply. At the very least this is confusing.

Someone could do with providing a definitive answer as to where things now stand on this matter. Is it the old - imperfect - definitions, or the new - dare I say it, imperfect - definitions?  confused

Cheers.

Paul

I agree Paul though I have taken it as stated in the upload page. I recently uploaded a Flybe Q400 with the new dots under the title. This is the only change to the livery and is only on 2 aircraft at this time as far as i'm aware. I believe these are 'special markings' applying to one or a few aircraft of a fleet. The hybrid is self explanitory in a my book though sometimes a trickier one to judge. If that sounded right....

Hybrid? For the soccer nose? I thought its a special marking. Cause it is not on the entire fleet! Why hyprid, Hyprid for me are mix ups of c/s and not markings ???

Well, at least I ve got my share of category rejections the last months .... , which I found ridicilous .... , why not just get one category for special kind of c/s?

EVERYTHING GOT SO DIFFICULT THE LAST YEAR !!!!!
