I've had a few letters regarding pics in magazines.
As this is my hobby, I don't usually charge for use, as I would rather have the exposure than money. I usually also ask for a few copies of the book or mag that the pic is in for a portfolio.
But thats just my take on it. Totally up to you how you go about it all.

I receive requests from KL quite frequently mostly for internal publication of something.
As far as I know "The Overall" is also in internal magazine which is not for sale.
Personally I let them use anything that stays internal for free.
