Yes, it is a rule breaker, airliners.net and photographically too.
There was some discussion about this a while ago as I would like to sepia tone some of my appropriate oldies.
The answer came back that it was a no-no and would be rejected as manipulation
Whilst that one of yours is eyecatching, I think that sepia toning is more appropriate with old subjects. The idea of sepia toning is that the image goes from brown (sepia) to white rather than black to white. Your toning is not the right shade, it is far too red, and there are no whites either.
Not a.net material in my view I'm afraid

I found your comments interesting because I too have been playing about with sepia tints (though not for a.net). Can I get your opinion about this one?

Now that is, to me, a perfect example of the sort of image that works well in sepia. There is nothing modern, even in the background.
I think your sepia is however the opposite extreme to Erics, a bit too weak.
I found this link useful http://www.freedigitalscrapbooking.c...tography-283/photography/40407.php

Charles, your image had me second guessing if it wasn't really an old print! Man, that looked the part alright!

Thanks for the feedback guys, I guess this one will be a little more approproate for some of the up-and-comers.
Quoting JeffM (Reply 8): ... and it does. Wicked sharp too. Where did you take it from down there? Nice light.
Driving back to Durango after spring break, with this storm goin on I decided to bail on Wolf Creek Pass and went through Albuquerque instead, which happened to be right on the leading edge of the frontal boundary. Broken Clouds + High Winds made runway 21 the only usable, and since it was about 3:30 when I took the shot, the light was killer out at the viewing area.
While we're at it, anyone care to opine on these two:
