check schipholspotter.com for hotels. There is a map so you can see how close they are. I would recommend the NH Golden Tulip hotel. It is perhaps not walkable, but there is a free shuttle bus. Also to the Kaagbaan spot is only a half hour walk.

Christel,

I normally stay at the A4, Crowne Plaza or the Dorint (changed name I think now) nice hotels, free shuttle buses and tasty buffet breakfasts  Wink

Cheers

Try the Hilton Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.

I'm sitting at the desk in one of their room right this second. Big grin

Or the Sheraton as thats actually connected to the Airport. Offers some good views of the airport from the room if you get one facing the right way.

Christel,

Don't know if you have been here before, but AMS is rather spread out with annoying changes in runway use if you're unlucky. Maybe you should get hold of a bicycle or something.

I've only flown into AMS, Ptrjong. I've never actually spotted from the airport and can you rent a bike at the airport or something?  biggrin

It seems that some of the airport hotels rent out bikes, but I don't know which ones, sorry.

When I was in Amsterdam, I stayed at the Hilton at AMS. Id say about a 3 min. walk to AMS. I used priceline and paid about $100usd a night.

I'm assuming you want to go to the runways.

I will be staying at the Hilton when I'm in AMS in May, does any of the rooms offer some good views?

The room I was in was 427 and the view was ok, depending on the runways which was in use (can't tell you which 1), you could see them when they were up.

And when I look to my left, when standing realy close to the window, I could see the tower.

If you were in a room facing the airport it would be better.

Tom.
