Good for probably absolutely nothing being that its on the north side, you're only going to catch ramp movements because that runway isn't very commonly used, but what the hell try it out next time?

I was in viewing area south, looking straight at the thing, but viewing area south is out about the touchdown area of runway 3, so I was a good two miles away.

I was through ABQ on Apr 14-15. The P-2 and P-3 aerial tankers were busy. That viewing spot could be a good place to see them in the afternoon light.

Tsk, tsk, you were in town and didn't contact me?
Last couple of times I've been out there, I've been bored to tears. Hopefully that didn't happen for you.
17/35 is currently NOTAMed as restricted to 12,500lbs and below, so any good traffic is not very likely at "Viewing Area North," unless you want to catch the ramp traffic for Terminal A and the Mesa gates.

Most areas mark the arrival of spring by blooming flowers and birds singing, we get slurry bombers! I haven't been to that spot in a very long (10+ years) so I'm not sure, but heat haze may prevent photography.
