Can the screeners just randomly accept their own shots?

No we cannot. It is impossible for us to add or reject our own shots.

But you guys have different standards. I have seen some fairly marginal photos from screeners that would not normaly be passed.

You are not going to make any friends here with comments like that !
Screeners have high acceptance rates as they know precisely what the site requires, but they still get rejections and several aired their acceptance rates here in public a while back -they were good, but unspectacular.
I would not expect many quality rejections from them, but in motive, a more subjective rejection, their opinions can differ.
Marginal quality shots do get on the database still, where the subject warrants it, not just from screeners, from anyone.

Maybe the double statndards that are applied here are what keeps a lot of people away from the site.I was an early uploader here and when the Screeners came along the double standards well and truly kicked in.If there is one thing in life i hate is DOUBLE STANDARDS. I know of one screener who made a comment about his photos.

PHOTO SCREENER

Hi F27

Screeners do get rejected shots

I had three last week!

>Dear A J Best,

This mail is sent to you to confirm that some or all of the photos you
recently uploaded to Airliners.Net (http://www.airliners.net) have been
through the screening process.

This is the status of your photos that have undergone screening so far:

-----------------------------------------------------------

Unfortunately we have had to reject one or more of your photos.

Always glad when people with a respect rating of zero make such accusations.

Yes there may have been 1 or 2 cases in the past when a marginal screener photo got through, a mistake like any other. Let me assure everyone though that as a screener you will have more trouble getting photos on then as a regular photographer, screeners bordercases are always left for Johan.

anyone photo uploaded goes through the same process, regardless of who is uploading the image.
