Problem With Contrast (not A Rejection)

Hello guys.

When I was going to upload this photo, my eyes told me that the photo is too soft and too dark. I like this photo a little, so I'd really appricate if you could tell me what I have to do with the photo, that is, if something needs to be done.

The shadows are much too dark and whilst the overall image can be improved using the curve, the shadows simply get very noisy and it would not reach acceptable quality here,

I think its really too dark. I had a go at it with the curves, and as mentioned above by Mick the shadows are noisy. Sorry but I dont think it will make it.
