Just heard this rumour at the airport. Looks like Emirates will fly the A380 to MUC at the opening day of that soccer thing as a kind of promo gag.

Did anyone hear about this?

If so, do you have any details?

Denis

Is it one already for the customer or again one of the testing a/c painted? The one which was in EK colors had the SQ and Airbus colors on it after the DXB show.

Hi all,

Thx for all the emails.

Unfortunatly i will be away from home until Saturday now and probably not able to post anything here (unless i find a clever way to do it).

And unfortunatly i don´t know anything more than i posted above.

Also, this Info, of course, isn´t official, so if this event isn´t going to happen, don´t blame me for missing your work  Smile

Denis

Hi,
managed to get internet access...
Bad news. I was told by one of the guys in the tower that it won´t happen...

But who knows, if it´s meant as a surprise, it will be one for sure.

Anyway, the good news is that the 4 Vim/ATA 757 that have been parked in front of the maintenance Hangar have been moved to the deicing stands to give way for aircraft to be parked on the apron.

Also several Biz Jets have been parked in places i never saw a plane before.

When i asked the tower if they expected that much traffic, the reply was:

"Hell Yes!"

So at least we´re going to see something...

I will arrive tomorrow morning coming from JFK (LH 411). And you know what? I won't take any pictures of all. I am getting tired of carrying the whole equipment with me all the time. I'm serious. I'm so happy that I don't have my camera with me.  Smile
I also heard of the A380 in MUC this day. But I don't care anymore. For you guys behind the fence or even on the apron, I wish you good luck. I will go home and gonna watch the match this evening together with my girl-friend... That's it.

Many greetings from Times Square, Mario

Lufthansa, there's no better way to fly.

you really had to say something to ruin my day, right?  Smile
By the way, are you flying back on -KA, or -KH?
KA, the first LH A333, is named after my hometown  yes
so be nice to her!

I´ll only shoot what passes me by during work, won´t go out to the airport more often as i have too. Don´t have too much spare time...

Anyway, as a follow up, here´s a list of the charter flights coming into Germany for the matches.

Airbus say the A380 definitely won't come to Munich Friday.

Oh well, who needs the A380 for the opening of the soccer worldcup. Right in this minute we have an Eurocpoter AS350 with the world's largest advertising banner (for QANTAS) flying over downtown Munich (I can see it from my office window...  Wow! ) and over the soccer arena (which I unfortunately can NOT see from my office window...  weeping  ), so who actually needs an A380...  sarcastic

Cheers,
Mike

Well there are way more important things in life than just taking pictures, but leave home without it....I don't know if I could do it. You never know..........
