A relative will be in New York City for a week and I'd like to take advantage of US camera gear prices. Can anyone recommend the best place in New York City from which to buy a Canon lens?

Thanks,
Charles

B&H Photo I think is good. My Dad was just in NY and went into their super store and got my new monopod. Apparently they are kinda disorganised, and you dont get to see the product before you buy it.

Hi,

went to B&H and loved it.

You might want to take a look at Adorama, too.

Yeah, If I had gone to B&H i probably would have loved it too. But my Dad has absolutely no interest in photography so maybe thats why he didnt like it.

I bought my Canon 70-200 F/4 and Sigma 17-35 EX from B&H when I was in New York in February, certainly saved me a fortune. But as others have said, you need to go in knowing what your going to get, as they are usually very busy.

It's a cool shop though, everything comes through on conveyours!

Simon.

Be there in July, I'm definitely having a look around B&H, can't wait!

It takes a big man to admit they are wrong, and I am not a big man.
