Hi all,

I got an email asking how much it would cost to use one of my photos in an advert for one of his clients. Any ideas on what a reasonable rate is?

Thanks in advance,

Tony

To give them a reasonable quote, ask what the client wants. Ad, online, billboard, etc...? How many copies, size, time of use (1 week or 1 year).

Don't undervalue your work.

PS One more question, if you don't mind: how are such agreements usually "signed"? Is an e-mail from me saying "you have permission, etc., etc." enough? Or is something more formal required?

Many thanks again,

Tony
