This is Gabo Ramirez from Aviation Photography of Mexico, I would like to know which is the best slide scanner, in Mexico this kind of Scanner area about 300usd, but i would like a no profesional scanner. I´d see some at Bestbuy.com about $150usd but i dont know, how can i see his quality or his resolution.
Thanks a lot
Best regards from Mexico

I think the Nikon Coolscan series is the best there is. Now that the Collscan IV and Coolscan 4000 ED have been out for about 6 months or so, you might be able to find a used Coolscan III for a reasonable price.

Hard to get a Coolscan IV or especially 4000 for $300
The IV is about $700, the 4000 about $1200.
A Coolscan III could go for $300, maybe a store has a leftover they're selling cheap somewhere. I would not get a used scanner, you never know how many scans it has done and they do wear out eventually.
