hi guys,
Jeff M or someone with good knowledge maybe able to help, i got a email from Qantas add agency and they want to use a shot in the following manner. what price?

"As the client is printing this banner as large format it is likely to be a year before they replace it. Can you send through a cost estimate if this banner is kicking around for at least 12mths (maybe used throughout this time for internal and external use) Please feel free to call and discuss."

Hmm...that's a tough one, what do they consider "large format"? As your not responsible for having it printed, everything you earn is profit. I don't have a dollar amount in mind, but would refer to some of the stock photo agency websites and see what they list.

Good luck with that offer.

cheers...going to give them a call, it's going on a banner so i'd imagine it's going to be quite large.

stock agency prices vary from $1000-$1800...banner is 6 meters x 6 meters.

it's embarassing showing the photo...it's not one of my better shots but they seemed to love it enough to buy it. I was shocked when they asked for this one!

Great job! It's usually the so-called boring/standard shots that sell, oddly enough.

Isn't that the truth! Your boring/standard shots sell while the truly beautiful ones sit on the sidelines and collect dust. How sad  Sad

Well done you dog! Now pay for me to come to Miami on your trip next winter!

I agree, my first sale was from a crappy, midday, high overcast layer outing!

Nice job Mont.

Danny

Edit: Not sure why my qoute from Mike's post didn't show up correctly.
