Hello!

I got this photo rejected because of bad quality:
http://www.airliners.net/addphotos/r...ections/big/20060704_GRZ410606.jpg
 Confused

Is it to soft, or to bright? I really don´t know why I got a quality rejetion. Thanks for your help!

I'd say a combination of an ever so slight color cast, distance, and dark.

I don't see a colour cast but to me it needs extra contrast and a little more sharpening (but watch for jaggies esp. on the rear fuselage stripes).

Have a suggestion: how about introducing an additional perk for first Class members: expanded commentary on the rejected shots. Quality rejections in particular - as it can mean many different things: from poor colour balance to
"a pic of AA MD80 in DFW has to be of exceptional quality to be accepted".

I think this would be good addition to better seat and higher quality meal while browsing airliners.net  Smile

If this is not practical as First Class member perk as not all of them are uploading photos, maybe it can be fee-based option? Pay $X to get comments on N shots?

I increased the contrast a bit, reduced the brightness a bit and also increased the colour a touch. Any better?

Alot better - the whites aren't as bright now but it seems a faint bit too dark overall now - just my thoughts.

While this sounds like a good idea, you have to understand that it wouldn't work in practice. We have a VERY large queue and we already spend enough time trying to screen without doubling the time to put personal messages in each and every rejection.

Where possible, I use personal messages. But more often than not, rejection messages coupled with actually looking at your own rejected shot, should help someway to figuring out the actual, specific problem.

I'm really sorry we can't be more specific sometimes..... we know that the queue would be 30,000+ and 4 weeks waiting time if we did.

Thank you very very much for your help!
Now I have reworked it, and it looks like this:

Big version: Width: 1024 Height: 683 File size: 446kb

I think it is better now.
