This is the kind of pic I've been wanting to take for years. I really shows the power generated by the aircraft. I also like the way it looks like the harrier is stepping out of all the dust. A great shot in other words.

I hope he had ear-protection.  Smile Good work Paul.

I missed out on 2 oppertuneties to photograph it this summer.

* It came in landing directly over my head. (I was under the flight path.) It came so close, and was at the perfect angle, but the noise and dust forced me to turn around.  Sad

* It did a powerfull climb at an airshow I attended, and the nosewheel came out. It had to do an emergency landing at a nearby airport. This time was dumb enough to actually forget to take the pic. (Camera was even in my hand.)  Sad

In concusion: D'oh.

Yeah, but the real annoying thing is when you actually have the gear, and still don't take the pic.  Sad

Thom@s and Thomas,

Thanks for the remarks about the shot. I too have always wanted to capture this shot!

Luckily I was the other end of the display line, I knew where it was going to do the touch and go  Smile/happy/getting dizzy This shot was taken with the 170-500 at 504mm (according to the camera!) and has come out pretty good.

After the touch and go it came to hover in front of me, maybe 70ft away at max. The jet blast through up all kinds of crap from the grass which seems to be inside the S1 now as I was changing lens just at the wrong time  Sad

Cheers

Paul

Gary,

Im just talking to Fuji about getting it cleaned so your be okay. Any shot you upload has to have me as photographer though, nobody will know the difference  Wink/being sarcastic

Glenn

The software that came with the camera contained a program called Exif Viewer (Something like that) that will display thumbnails of all the shots. Right click on an individual image and it displays an information tab that lists, focal length, shutter speed, aperture so on and so on. Did you not get the same program with your S1? If not let me know and I will send you a copy.

504mm=756mm in old fashioned Wink/being sarcastic film style for those interested  Smile

Cheers

paul

Ah yes, I use exif viewer but I suffer from DRTFM so hence I didn't read the F*&king manual  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

I had a Harrier hovering over me head, filling the frame of my 100mm lens. It was hell I tell you.  Smile Nice shot again.
