Two quick questions.

1.) My photo limit is now 2 instead of 5, does that have to do with not getting any photos accepted?

2.) I have two photos in the que that I took yesterday while driving around SWF, both are of rare diversions to the airport.

here are the photos:

Big version: Width: 800 Height: 612 File size: 125kb

Big version: Width: 800 Height: 612 File size: 171kb

How do the photos look to you guys? Does the fact that both are rare diversions to the airport help a little in the chance of them being accepted?

If the photo look below par, can anyone give me some tips or help me edit them?

Hi, Gordon,

You have to have some of your shots accepted, otherwise, the slots will be 2.

And I think those two shots might hardly stand a chance due to quality.

Just my thougths.

Hi Gordon,

The queue limits were reduced for everybody this week, if you don't have any photos on the site your limit is now indeed 2.

These two will never make it here not only for lack of quality as Hongyin says - which you could say means lack of detail - but also because of what is called motive here: the way you photograph your subject.

The site generally doesn't like tail-on views like the first one very much, and it's also safer not to cut a wingtip off. Even the stairs and the vehicle might be a problem - they are 'clutter'.

The second photo is also cluttered too much by the background aircraft.

The first photo is also backlit which is maybe not unacceptable in itself, but it often makes a photo too dark.

The fact that the aircraft are rare there doesn't help, or doesn't help much.

Hope that helps,

They both look very noisy (grainy) to me, the first is far too dark too, the second lacks all sorts of quality and detail, also could do with being cropped closer to the aircraft as well, what you have to remember is that they may be very rare at this airport but they are all common else where so this factor won't come into effect. Don't let this put you off, keep trying and sooner rather than latter you will crack it for sure  Smile
