Hi
I have uploaded a picture here is the link:
http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1086892/M/

now I have uploaded this take-off:
http://www.airliners.net/addphotos/b...AXY_dept_malta_antonov_maloclm.jpg

since I live besides the airport this takeoff was taken from my roof but I am afraid that it can be rejected for double since I have already one as indicated further up~So to avoid leaving it in Q for nothing I would be happy to know if it will make it!!
All d best to you all and thks for your continous support.

Not baddouble Malcolm, as taken at a different time, different side of aircraft, different perspective.

"Double" is really aiming to prevent uploading of multiple frames taken within seconds of one another.

Hi Malcolm

Definately not bad double. Nice image.

So you live close to the airport? I visited Malta back in 1980 and was able to view a UTA DC8 overflying my apartment in San Gwaan  Smile

Gary

Yes Gary,
the runway is almost less than 500m away and 3 years ago we had an IL86 taking off from this runway its only about 2377 long so you can imagine this bloddy IL86 of aeroflot could not lift from this runway and I was praying not to find it into my house it got airborne almost 50m before the end.Below here im linking our airport you see the L shape take the horizontal runway 24-06(the shortest one) how close I am!so you should visit again Gary you will sure love it!!

I thought I read somewhere (a few years ago) that they didn't use 06-24 anymore, but I guess I remembered wrongly.  Smile Or did they extend it recently (as in 'the last couple of years')?

They resurfaced the runway a few months ago..they are to inroduce some regulations on it unless they are very tight. The introduction will be that only a/c such as 737s category or less will land on it but it has not yet been finalized since the longest runway will be closed from next winter for major maintenance on it!!so for sure its going to be used.Malta International Airport was planning to close it down but this was only a rumour ...

Malcolm

I will need to send you some old scans from 1980.

I remember watching a Laker DC10 depart while I was on the viewing balcony. It was huge but did not have a camera at that time. I started photography around the end of that holiday. Got a few Air Malta 720's on the ramp, Alitalia 727 and a Dan Air 727 which I flew home on. Really old camera so scans will not be the best.

Regards

Gary
