Well i am saddened to hear the events that has happened, truly a sad day in history. This day will never be forgotten as long as anyone shall live.
My thoughts and prayers go out to families, and all people involved in the events today. May every soul on each of those aircraft, and everyone in the WTC, rest in peace. May the lord be with you always, now and forever!
As security is now a factor, or actually always has been, we are in for something new! The security systems we have now have been shot.
The best they say, HAH! No way. The American Airport Security system is so vulnerable to these kind of things. But thats all going to change here soon.
1. Ticket to go to gates, when passing security.
2. Actually training people to watch out for things carefully and SPEND that darn extra money, just to make sure our system is safe and protected!
Well as some people say, some airports have tight security, or so they though, well now Photography I think just got shot down the tube. Security is going to be so tight they might even search the utter most spots photographers will go, and make it restricted. I find it hard to get decent spots to go now for shots, but now....we have just seen the start for photography...brace yourself....spots are going going going, going..................gone....before you know it!

I have always wondered about the lack of security in the USA on all levels (not just airports).
In Europe you do not get to the gates without a boarding card and a passport check.
Depending on the airport, metal detectors and XRay machines are either at the gate or at the passport check (or both on some airports). ALL passengers have to pass a security checkpoint, noone can walk past like I've seen happen numerous times in the US, and only passengers get past at all.

You are probably correct. The attacks today don't just affect those directly involved. It affects everyone in the free and civilized world. Terrorism is very effective when it comes to damaging democracy and stripping freedoms and liberties which we as a country have worked so hard for...Therefore, everybody suffers.
Hightended and more invasive security will just be one of the necessary evils that we are going to have to come to terms with. So yes, we as "airport rats" will probably have to look for a new hobby...For a little while at least.
God bless everyone affected by today's tragedy.
