I just had this one rejected for contrast and soft.
I tell you, I am getting pretty frustrated myself as it is now. I have gone from 80% acceptance to 60% over the last 10 days or so.

So how do you suggest a rotation to make it level? Ill ask the expert right now. I think you know the field well.
Ill be nice & disregard your other remark about the photo.

Quoting AndyHunt (Reply 3): Rotate the picture clockwise. And you really shouldn't disregard the other comment.

NO, its ok, I will.. Thanks for the insight on the rotation. Kinda tough on that field.

Thanks Prat,
I will rotate the photo a bit but the contrast is just fine. Wont be changing it. Will keep it for the personal collection.

Quoting NicolasRubio (Reply 7): What about this? Only sharpening, levels, contrast and colors as I didn't have the original...
Edit:
Ok, you edited the pic, didnt realize that. Sorry, thats not how it looked that evening. The sky was more orange, like my version showed.

I want to publicly apologize to Andy for coming off so hard. As a screener you offered an opinion, be it right or wrong, I should have been more professional than that.
Thanks for the level advice John.
I definitely like the first edit better but I adjusted the levels on this edit. Is this acceptable? I see some heat haze but it looks to be pretty minimal.

It's the most beautiful pic I've seen in a while. Thank you for it. I've taken to scouring this forum. Is seems that, while there are some dog ugly shots, there are often the best ones which don't make it.
Exactly right - Chad you and I, plus many others know that you produce awesome shots. If anet choose to rejeted them (plus many others) just laugh, because lets face it, look at what they are missing out on.

Thanks all for the support in here and offline and in emails (wow, I got emails because of this!) but it might be to late as Im getting worn out. Right now if you asked me to upload a few other shots I took that day, I cant say that I am motivated.
Can I get some opinions on this shot thats already in the queue please? Angle is probably an issue, but, I was leveling the poles in the background. If thats it, its an easy fix. What about the "contrast, sharpness, etc" in this shot?
On another possibly related note as it has to do with rejections...
It seems that the forum is becoming far less active over the last week or so. Could it be people are "shell shocked" with the rejections as of late? I know I cant be the only one getting these rejections. I have also noticed far less people are viewing the pics over the same period. It might just be me, but, I find it interesting they are both occurring simultaneously.
Yes I think it might be an issue. You should have used the buildings verticals as reference. Maybe my version is now leaning a little bit to much to the right but yours is leaning to the left I think.
I hope this helps.
About the contrast, softness etc. I have no idea anymore.

Or simply fed up with them?

Mybe its related to a certain other site which must remain nameless here getting rid of the popup-ads?

Yep, sorry I misread it.

25 Maiznblu_757: Disregard the landscape mode in there, I was just experimenting with that.[Edited 2006-09-07 09:46:53]
26 Javibi: Agree. Contrast I like, as it seems natural (unlike the Virgin, I am sorry to say), but I am also one of those guys who have no idea about what's rig
27 TimdeGroot: Chad, for me the light in the virgin shot is not good enough yet for that type of shot. The light on the DC10 shot is already much better and hence it
28 UnattendedBag: I think you are going to need to go even further. 1.75 cw seems to work well.
29 Maiznblu_757: Ok, so what is it? Buildings, the windsock, the light poles, the truck or the E-120 or...
30 F9Widebody: Just kind of play with it. These are the toughest to rotate beecause you have to use the horizon line and kind of "eyeball" it, as the jetwash has bl
31 Eadster: Now there are no Popups @ JP, the audience and contributors will climb.
33 DLKAPA: We're already getting about the same number of daily uploads as here, or at least we were, I haven't compared figures after the new upload limits her
34 Dale: Congrats Chad on Screener's Choice on this Photo at JP Dale
35 Eadster: Yeah, I've been watching the increase. Alot of Pics being added to the DB also. I told you it was a killer shot. I'm not the only one that thought so
36 UnattendedBag: I would use the windsock pole as a primary reference. It is tall enough to get a good read on the level.
37 Dehowie: Great shots Chad. Love that Fedex one, Darren
