Since becoming more interested in this hobby in general I have found that, for me, millitary aircraft are far more exciting and interesting to watch than civil aircraft. Anyone else thought this way?

Civil have always been more interesting (especially the heavies), but I never underestimate the military (here again the big birds are exciting and the MiG-29s and Su-27s Big grin ).

How much A is there is Airliners Net ? 0 or nothing ?

Shouldn't this be Polls & Preferences?
Perhaps you should heed the advice you gave me about giving up the beer

Hi Ian,

Yes, indeed I agree with you (on this one  Wink), but unfortunately here in Chile to photograph military airplanes outside public events is rather complicated, unless you catch them at a civil airport.

Just sit back, relax and have a glass of Merlot...enjoy your life!

You mean preferences?
Calm down. I'm talking about photography. Go and have a cigarette.  Wink

I like both. Airliners are a welcome change for me.

If Im ever in put in a situation where I have choose to shoot in between the runways at Nellis AFB for Red Flag or near the runway at a civil field shooting airliners, Im choosing Nellis hands down.  Wink

I used to do primarily military subjects until the colors got bland and the variety dwindled down to just a few types. Airliners were so common and most every airport had a viewing deck or place to photograph. I think this availability is what brought us such high quality images from a few decades ago. The photographer could pick the best of conditions. Military photography could be hit or miss depending on the access and weather.

Not knowing where my interests will lie in the future, I photograph the whole spectrum of aviation now.

Military is more interesting to me ... but I'll photograph whatever flies.
