For some reason I do not want to completely quit uploading, but I still want to upload what I like  Smile Do my fellow photogs and screeners consider this one worthy of an upload? :

Big version: Width: 1024 Height: 683 File size: 625kb

For those interested in the technical details: EOS 30D + EF 500 L IS USM + 1.4x + Wimberley Head, 1/8 seconds, f5.6, ISO 400.

Cheers

J,

1/8 is pretty astounding! Unfortunately, and I hate to say it, but in its current form it wont make it. Can you crop closer to fill the frame better?

At 1/8th it is astounding, but if your Iberia A340 couldn't make it, I don't think this ever will, sorry...

Impressive J but no chance for here I think. Aside from any quality issues I think the aircraft is too dark in this shot, and all the attention is placed on the lightstreaks.

I am sure I am in the company of many when I plead with you not to stop showing us this kind of shot. As ever, very impressive photo skills from you.

Unfortunately this will never make it on to the site unless/until there is a special section created for shots that excel in various areas but otherwise would not fit the tight criteria for the site. For this one the criteria will include dark/distance/quality/soft/grain. But who knows - maybe one day? There is no doubt many who see this and shots like it will acknowledge that it deserves a wide audience somewhere.

Take good care.

Paul

Hi Javier....
I hope this is just a bug..a postsynaptical disfunction of your brain..but in case you stop give your 500mm Big grin

The lights are amazing but the a/c lacks of detail and quality as Tim has pointed out before...

All the best

Enrique

Actually it is much easier with the right equipment; that Wimberley head is worth every penny  Wink

Naive as I am, I was still kinda hoping shots like those had a place here, like e.g. those kindly plugged by Peter  Smile

Maybe...

I have almost stopped uploading here already, but I do upload on a regular basis to "my other site" (at least until they decide they do not want my shots there either...), so I am not parting with my 500mm anytime soon  Smile

Thanks for your opinions!!

Well, depends on what this database is looking for. Meanwhile the few pictures I submit keep getting rejected, last one been "soft":

Astonishingly sharp for that kind of panning shot but grainy and overexposed. Maybe rework the original photo and reduce exposure and/or brightness. This could also get rid of some of the grain. If grain still visible try a slight pass with neatimage.
As a personal note I'd also crop it a little tighter to the main gear.

Cheers,

Thierry

We're gonna need a big mountain for all the big lens shooters alone as there's not gonna be enough room on the Axalp for all the big Ones  Wink
