Hello all,

Just wanted to ask your advice about the picture below. How does it look to you? It's kind of unconventional, but I thought it looked funny. Any comment/advice?

Thanks!
Philippe

That's spooky! I am currently watching a documentary on tv about the EL AL Cargo crash and that tower is featured!

Very nice!
Hope you checked the "Airport overview" box!?
All I could come up with is a motive issue but that will be up to the screeners (or Johan) to decide. And even if they don't want it on A.net why not contact Schiphol Airport; maybe they could use such a nice picture!?
Good luck with it!

Thierry

Funny tower huh?

Quoting ThierryD (Reply 2):

Thanks Thierry, no I havn't marked the Overview box, because I didn't think it showed enough of the airport for it to be ticked. I ticked PROP, WARBIRD and PRESERVED.

Best regards.
Philippe

You should do it cause the main subject of the picture is the tower (planes too far in the distance) and as such the picture falls under the airport overview category. AND remove the preserved cat. as it's only used for a/c not flying anymore.

Nice photo Philippe.

Just wondering: Are preserved aircraft flying? Or is the tower preserved in a museum? Just confused:  confused

Nice photo PipoA380. However, the tower seems to lean a bit to the right, am I correct? Maybe some CCW rotation is necessary?

WARBIRD

I've quite a few Yakovlev Yak-52/Yakovlev Yak-55/Yakovlev Yak-18T/IAv Bacau IAK-52 photos in the DB, and I've never ticked WARBIRD. Are you sure those are ex military aircraft, not newer aircraft that didn't see Army Training?

That doesn't matter, David. For A.net it's a warbird when it's painted to seriously resemble a military aircraft (including markings and serial). Whether or not it has ever seen military service in real life is irrelevant.

As far as I can see from the photo, the left one appears to be a warbird (resembling Russian Air Force), the right one does not. No need to know the aircraft's identities for that, because their histories do not matter.

Aad.

OK Aad!

But if the aircraft aren't written down (for example reg. and c/n and a/c type), then why to tick Warbird? Is a tower a warbird? Or does it just have to be seen on the photo?

In that case Warbird should not be ticked, and I never said that it should. I was merely responding to your remark "Are you sure those are ex military aircraft?", which has nothing to do with the aircraft being warbirds or not.

Aad.
