The 1st shot has very grainy wings

The Awacs looks ok but the blacks have a jagged edge to them (see nose)

N550RM looks like it will never make it as seems to be the heat haze giving it a soft look but then too much USM to get it back.

So some bad & good news.

Tony

Ok short answers (my opinion of course!):

1. Forget it - grainy, distance, centre etc.
2. Should be fine with a better edit
3. Overexposed. Might be ok with it toned down a bit, but not sure.
4. Whites are very blown out especially on the nose. Doubt this one can be saved for here.

Hi martin
I did not cropped much on the 1st one so that I show the effect of smoke coming out..since it was doing aerobatics.

Agree with the above,
The AWACS especially will benefit from a fairly straightforward re edit,
The Tecnam, not sure the smoke actually adds much to the picture, if it was against a bright blue sky that might have been different.

I guess those of us in Sydney will get many opportunities to shoot VH-OTD as she takes up her role flying regular NTL-SYD services for Aero-Pelican, but keep you eyes open for more transient visitors, because there is supposed to be more than one.

Cheers

If your camera sends text messages, that could explain why your photos are rubbish!

I would have HQ'ed the AWACS though.. nice shot. Maybe a bit more conservativity on the edit, but it should be good.
