The shot might be better at 1024 wide vs. 1200. Also, when you added sharpening did you do a completely new edit, or add over the old saved file? The sky looks grainy as well, if you sharpened that, you shouldn't have.

Do a fresh edit. With the plane at center, crop photo on PS to 4 x 6. Resize to 1024. Use magic wand and deselect sky by right clicking on inverse. Select USM at 50, 0.4, 0. Select duplicate layer, repeat USM at the same ratio. Use eraser tool at 100% opacity and remove any jaggies. Flatten image and voila!
