Well we got some new screeners so that number should be coming down a bit soon. I am patiently waiting to see that red "photo screener" next to Mike's name!
WE = You, me, the screeners, all the other photogs here and bascially the site as a whole. If you need a detailed breakdown of my posts from now on just PM me and I will send you one.

AIRLINERS.NET CREW HEAD SCREENER
Hmm
Amazing there are never many threads when the queue is down
New screeners not hired yet but they have been chosen. Waiting for the HS team to get together to final things up. Two have been away on holiday/business.

Quoting LIPH (Thread starter): ...I expect another "upload limit cut" in a few weeks....months at most...
Do you really care about upload queue limits? Haven't you got any life out of A.net? I personally would be happier to have 2 photo limit in Q (rather than 25) and get photos screened in dozen hours or one day than waiting over a week for 25 photos... but of course you wouldn't be on the top uploaders page with only 2 uploads at once.
Well, 25 photos screened in 3 days ain't bad either.

Quoting PUnmuth@VIE (Reply 4): and there was me thinking you have some kind of management position at a.net
Why would you think that? Oh let me guess I must have said that sometime in the past? (stroking myself)
I have said before we need more screeners. This way when a couple go on holiday or have to break from screening the number of pics being screened on a daily basis doesn't suffer as much.

Quoting Eadster (Reply 13): Yeah great input, must have taken you ages figure out that suggestion.
Well folks keep moaning and moaning that they have to wait, if you can't hack the waiting times for a photo to be screened, dont bother uploading in the first place.. remember the screeners are volounteer's and do their best for you guys, but obviously their best, in their own time, isnt good enough for some people.

I haven't really noticed the increase in photos in the queue. To be honest it doesn't bother me and never will.
At the moment its around 7k, there were times when it was in the 10's of thousands. Either way waiting a week, two weeks etc... never bothered me that much.
Maybe somewhat ridiculous if you wanna get pedantic about it, but at the end of the way that's the way it's gonna be! Like it or lump it! Your ever so important photos will get screened eventually.

When I'm uploading a batch, I always write down the current state of the queue.
And a few statistics:
At this moment there are 1526 photographers and 7249 photos.
Two weeks ago the numbers were about 1300 and 6000.
Before the limits were reduced the numbers were 2000 and 13000.
(above numbers are not exact but more or less reperesent what I had noted).
