I'm looking for advice on a bag. This December my wife and I will be on holiday in the Cape Town area on our motorcycle and I am looking for something light and weather proof to safely transport my 350D with Sigma 18-200. If possible I want something that I can carry the camera at my chest and that has fast access for quick shooting.
Any suggestions?

You know I didn't even think of a tank bag... probably cos I have never used one! Another reason is that I would like to be able to just get off and walk about with the bag in place and not have to worry about unhooking and re-attaching anything to the bike.

I'm not sure how big the Sigma is, but I'm very satiesfied with my Lowepro Slingshot 200AW. Very fast access to the camera and big to handle my body with the EF-S 18-55 and the EF 70-300 IS USM + harddisk and a few more items.

I use a LowePro Zoom 100 AW. It comes with both a shoulder strap and backpack style straps. When I'm carrying a backpack, like on a day hike, I wear the Zoom 100 with the backpack straps - but I wear it backwards so it hangs on my chest (also good for skiing). The 100 will take a pretty long lens, I use it with a D2x and 70-200 AFS VR lens. But if your lens is shorter you could go with the 70 AW.
One caution if you go with a tank bag. Mine has big magnets that help hold it on, and there could be a risk of those magnets damaging either the camera's memory or photo's on the chip. It hasn't happened to me, but I always keep the camera in a camera bag when it's in the tank bag. There are tank bags out there with no magnets, but they're tedious to clip/unclip.
