Bruce just reached the 1000 view average for over 1000 images in the database. We have never met in person but have enjoyed an email exchange about aviation photography in the upper midwwest. We did come close one time when I was in a C-130 he photographed on takeoff

Thanks, Gary! I never really thought of it as a significant milestone because there are many photographers on here who have way more views on average than me. But that's the best I can do since I can't frequent airports that are photo-friendly with interesting visitors or work "inside the fence" where you can get close up to everything.
A lot of the high view photos are just luck - being in the right place at the right time. The tanker photo really boosted my average considerably - but what are the odds that a tanker will refuel a big plane directly over my city at the exact time that I am at the airport observation area with my camera AND the sky is clear?
The 2006 air show season was fun. I hope for more interesting opportunities in 2007.

I'll join my good friend Gary in congratulating you, not only for passing the 1000 milestone, but also for getting over 2800 photos accepted by beating the bushes for shots without a major airport near your home.

Congrats Bruce! I've always been a fan of your photos... ever since I found this site in the late nineties, your photos were ones I always especially enjoyed.
I know we've thrown a few emails back and forth over the past couple years.. and I'll say it again: you take some damn nice pictures! Definately an inspiration for me to get into the hobby a few years back.
Simply stunning! I wish I would have been able to stay later in the week just to see that plane... but oh well. Anyways, thanks so much for all the wonderful shots! Here's to the next thousand shots, and the next million views!

I appreciate your detailed cockpit photos. They are crystal clear, even when taken a while ago. I mean, I appreciate a cockpit overview shot as well, but in these you can actually see what is going on on each individual instrument
