It does appear slightly soft, and I think you've tried to compensate by sharpening a fair but. I love the motive and the light is very nice but I think its soft and because of that sharpening, it seems grainy on the shadows...

Allthough I do not like the crop that much, I think the quality of the picture is excellent. On my LCD monitor, sharpness is just fine and lots of details are visible.
Personally I would add a little more local sharpness to the focus points of the fuselage, like the cockpit windows and the nose. The blown out highlights don't bother me at all and even add to the picture.
The lower part of the sky is a bit noisy, but this is something that can be solved quite easily by a tool like Neatimage (yes, a tool which CAN be usefull when used wisely ).
