A comment from the screener regarding this upload:
"DSC00004af4ab.jpg cloning along bottom edge?"

No. I did not!

This shot is at the edge of a small pond and there is a liquid mirror effect. I am out of town so I don't have the orginal with me but i will post that after tuesday. All I have done is cropped and sharpened.

here is the shot.

here is a wider angle shot which got rejected a few weeks ago for motiv..hence the tighter crop which got rejected for...

Hi Suresh,

nice shot as usual. A note to the screener on the upload page would have saved you the trouble IMO.

How was he supposed to know the screener would ask a question like that?

True.
When I upload and there's something odd or unusual in my picture I mention it. But then something like a pond reflection may not appear weird to the person that took the picture because he knows what it is.

I opened the link before I read this, and thought... this cloning is WAY too obvious. Without being given the information of there being a pond in the shot, it's pretty hard to tell.

And if that's all it was rejected for, why don't you just go ahead and appeal it??

Are you sure about that ( not you Mike, I mean anybody who can see the picture and I should have done what you did but I went direct to what Suresh has written....my fault )?
If not so I wouldn't reject the photo. If you had doubts It would be great to contact the photographer. This sounds difficult nowadays because a matter of time but more screeners joining the team should consider this option instead of a wrong rejection?....

Cheers

Enrique

The image was also rejected for level (needs CCW rotation) and there is a white border all the way up the RHS.

A note to screeners to explain the strange pattern along the bottom would have avoided the "editing" question.

Without reading the text I klicked right to the photo link and on first glance my thoughts were, if he did clone some branches or trees?
The lake vegetation and "natural scenery" clearly gave it away that it was a lake .... I wonder how someone with the slightest knowledge of nature can oversee this as a lake?
No offense, but this is quite arkward ...

The image you linked was not the uploaded image. Let's make that clear.

Hi Gary,

It is. I initially linked the appeal photo and that did not work. I re-uploaded it very fast because i was focused upon the clone rejection. That is the first link an it is the very same photo. I also appealed it last night and that got rejected for leval and borders by this morning. I totally missed the other rejections last night. So now I will pull the image and rework the image. I am not at home hence i cant fix it now. Hope that clears it up.

I felt a bit peeved ast night when i saw the comment "NOA-editing" and "clone".

I will try and fix the photo to make it Anet quality  Smile

I appeciate all your input.

I used a Sony F-828 with some sidewas lighting thru the trees.

Florian, I was trying to capture the liquid mirror effect but was also in a hurry so I couldn't really experiment. I did think portrait shot but could not get a 2:3 crop.

Peace,

Suresh

You did email the screeners and tell them that before creating this thread, and got no response, right?

Seems odd to create a thread about it if you didn't  Smile
