More that just a self gloss (the picture that turned to be "the one" is not really anything special), I wanted to use the opportunity to thank everybody for all their support during the past months, right here in the forum (as I regularly bored the heel out of you with requests for opinions of mostly bad pictures), and also to the screeners (who sometimes had to endure up to five times the same picture!) and the crew (what an awesome and silent work is being performed every day by the database editors). I may not always agree with the results, but for sure always appreciate you spending most (if not all) of your free time for us photographers!
In paticular, Paul Markman has been extreemly helpful and has volunteered too much of his time trying to show me the dark secrets of digital editing - many thanks Paul and "un gran abrazo"! Also Mick Bajcar has tought me quite some new tricks with PS - you see Mick, your students do learn quickly (at least I try)! And last but for sure not least, I just want to say many thanks to my wife and children for their support - the most important one.
Just sit back, relax and have a glass of Merlot...enjoy your life!

Congrats Andrés!!! Cheers to your first 100 pictures!!!
What amazes me, appart from your great pics, is how fast you got plenty of pics accepted. Cheers to you good work and consistency too.

Hi All!
Many thanks for your kind words - really highly appreciated!
Quoting NicolasRubio (Reply 11): I call it DSLR + L lens
I have to admit that shooting with a DSLR + L lens is a huge difference when compared to a P&S, but unfortunately that cannot remove heat haze from the pictures (my biggest problem now) and I still have to rely on the "old computer between the ears" for shooting and editing ? !
I am right now waiting at the airport for a flight from SCL to GRU, so plenty of time to give you some stats about my pics in the DB:
- First pic accepted March 11, 2004
- Only this same picture in DB until May 1, 2006
- Between May 1 and December 11, 2006, total 104 pictures accepted
- Of the pictures in the DB, 1 was shot with a Sony P&S, 32 with a Canon A95 P&S and 72 with a Canon Rebel XT (of these 26 with an EF70-200 f/4L USM lens).
And Peter, I think we are going to have to set up a meeting in London at the Imperial War Museum to try to figure out if the FW 190 is level or not - maybe one of the screeners can attend as well, as there are pics from TZ and Tim of the same location in the DB !

Hi Andres.
Very many congratulations from me too.
It has been a great pleasure to get to know you through the site, and offer you what small help I can with the editing. Thank you for those kind words. It must be said you have developed an excellent screening eye yourself, and have much to offer others too.
I look forward to discussing more photos with you soon.

Hola Andres otra vez!
Many congratulations. I like your photos too, and I am glad to see that you had such excellent help on the way as that coming from Paul Markman. (He helped me as well when I needed it most and still does.) The best thing is that your own skills will grow very fast now, as a photographer and editor. And how lovely it is to see the nature surrounding your aircraft.
Best wishes,
Frippe
