This is getting frustrating, or my eyes are teasing me.
Dec 1 I had the chance to get a night shot of the Helvetic F100 with the new colors. I uploaded as hot photo, but had it rejected for motive after 5 days (remember: hot photo - 5 days). Possibly because of a lamp, who knows, who cares.
Anyway, I uploaded another version as hot photo again (at this time, there was just one photo of that livery in the db), this time rejected for unlevel (again after 5-6 days), much to my surprise, so appealed and got it rejected again (of course! I mean, one accepted appeal this millenium should tell me a story...): http://homepage.sunrise.ch/mysunrise...ery/f100_2l_hb-jvc_061201_3959.jpg
OK, perhaps I'm getting old, so I rotated the photo, uploaded again as hot photo, but forgot to state why it was a hot photo. I mean, I thought, they would finally know it after 2 fruitless attempts. Of course, rejected after a few hours "priority why?". I asked, if I had to upload again. Reply:
"There is a message in your rejection:
"f100_2l_hb-jvc_061201_fan.jpg priority why?"
If you mark priority, and the aircraft isn’t considered to be priority, it will be rejected.
Please upload again without the “priority” box ticked."
Funny thing: It was also rejected for not having changed it. Of course, an appealed shot is not in the rejected queue anymore. So, the screeners compared the shot with the one I was told to upload again without the “priority” box ticked (see above).
That's the best way to p*ss off photogs, but anyway: how much do I have to rotate the photo to make it level?

It needs CW rotation for sure. I used the measure tool but it still looked like it needed more than .6 CW rotation. I ended up at about .9-1.0 degrees CW rotation and that looked ok to my eyes.

Not an easy one to level as there are no real points to use, but rotating it till it looked/felt right I would use about a 1deg CW rotation, based on the first one/link that you have posted.

Thanks guys
Matt, just to make it sure: which photo are you referring to? Not that I rotate in the wrong direction again
Fegul, I rotated also 1° to check. In my opinion, the photo looks unlevel, but perhaps because I know, there is a bit of distortion due to the wide angle. I guess, you levelled it acording to that building on the right, correct?

Sorry about not being specific. I used the 2nd photo you linked.

Quoting Gerardo (Reply 4): I guess, you levelled it acording to that building on the right, correct?
Nope!! The building on the far right is too far to the side to be used as a reliable leveling datum. I leveled the aircraft till I felt that the whole photo looked right. Your photo has a feel that it's leaning to the left.

It´s better now but I think it has gone a little off CW, in my opinion. It´s like if the ramp was leaning to the right side.
I guess you should find a good feel by checking on the lightposts under the tail and the cars seen through the space below the fuselage. Get a good average level for both elements and you should be fine with it.
Quoting Ptrjong (Reply 3): When you uploaded for the second time, the other photo was in the db, and so there was no ground to ask for priority
Correct. I believe priority screening is allowed for the first pic, since it´s a way of allowing hot news to reach the site faster.
Good luck with it.
Cheers!

Quoting Rotate (Reply 12): Re the last picture I also think it now needs a tiny CCW rotation ...
Hi Gerardo
yes that's how it looks to me as well. A tiny bit of CCW... Interesting to see how difficult it gets in a shot like this... Good luck, I hope that a shot of this quality shot gets accepted at some point.
