You're comparing apples to oranges. Sure, they're both fruit but one is totally different than the other.
And just to add: Yes, a nice selection of images for sure.

All of those photos were added by Johan.
The shot by Luis is by far a better composed, interesting shot.
Is that really you Eric? I thought you self-deleted!

Not that i'm being argumentative or anything, but if these photos are making people happy looking at them (like above), how come they are not added in the first place?
Cheers,

Make sure they know we're playing the game, but we don't need to play the game because we've already won the game.

Because they probably have/had questionable motive and/or quality issues that did not warrant a direct add. "Making people happy looking at them" while great, is not in itself a good enough reason for acceptance. I hope that answers your question without sounding defensive, not my intention.
My pleasure. Just wanted to share the exellent mood these pictures put me in. It didn't even get spoiled by the rejection (a fair one, I must admit) I myself received this morning.

Who cares about the angle? What does that have to do with motive?
One looks like the back of an airplane, the other looks like a freaking work of art.
Why do you have to turn a positive thread into a negative? And, strictly on a personal note, if you don't like the policies why did you leave and comeback?

You mean the one with correct white balance that got rejected?
Do you really think, white balance and art have much to do with each other ? About time for the museums to start rejecting pictures by Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, etc. In some of their works, WB really sucks.

The 747 is reflecting on the car roof I put the camera on because I didn't had a tripod, as for the wb, Faro ramp lights have a slightly "yellowish" tone.

You just did that all by yourself, and to this day, continue to do so. I have not seen you reply to a thread constructively, since I've been a member here.
Quoting JeffM (Reply 14): Looks odd to me, as does the wb.
WB does to my eyes too, but interesting concept with the roof. I like it!

Hi,
Thanks for posting these shots, especially as the B747 flying over Mt. Fuji was taken by myself!
It is a shame that more of this type of shot probably gets rejected due motiv as I personally find them much more interesting to look at than simple side on shots, and, judging by the amount of hits they seem to get I would think the majority agree.
I am approaching 1000 shots (7 to go) but find I have to be more careful in what I choose to upload in order to avoid those dreaded rejections! I wish I could be a little more adventurous.
Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it and a Happy New Yeat to all.
If you fail to see the difference between the shot you had rejected (correctly!) and Luis' one, you really don't have a clue...

25 Eadster: Sorry but your instance was not an inconsistency. There is a big quality difference between the two...
26 Graphic: His shot wasn't rejected for quality issues
27 Flugnord: FACE!!!! But i'm happy now, I got one accepted today. And BTW, I LOVE the snow on the front page. [Edited 2006-12-22 01:04:56]
28 Chukcha: Looks nice, especially considering that we don't get any REAL snow down at our end . At least A.net will give us some . Just to conclude: from now on
29 Scottieprecord: I really don't understand how having a car hood take up such a great deal of the shot does not warrant a motive rejection... Luis. Sorry if that offen
30 Chukcha: Try and look deeper into the hood, maybe you'll understand. Anyway, its all right, some see, some don't... As for me, I don't understand you. He got
31 Mirage: Don't worry, doesn't offend me at all, I don't have problems with negative critics on my photos, they're welcome. Just try to see the reflex, not the
32 Scottieprecord: Yes, you're right... There's no reason not to be happy about other's acceptances. Anddd I am very jealous of Luis' work. Haha. He's a much better pho
