Hi Guys (and Girls?),
Does this one have any chance of getting accepted?
Again, I know the quality is bad (I probably would reject it myself for quality and grainy), but I guess I need to hear it from somebody else to believe it ...I just love the colors, though!

Quoting Acontador (Reply 2): So, you are not SURE it won't make it?
The only two sure things are death and taxes. As to that photo, I'd say 'pretty damn sure' would be more like it, BUT, if that plane crashed or had some other newsworthy event happen to it while it was queued..... Then you might get it in.

Is there any hope?....
I can't see the picture any more as link is broken but this is a pretty good indicator...
Quoting Acontador (Thread starter): Again, I know the quality is bad (I probably would reject it myself for quality and grainy),
If YOU think the quality is bad, if you think that YOU would reject it, then in all likely hood it is a waste of your time and the screeners time to even upload it!
Indeed if those are your thoughts then it is a waste of yours and forums time to even ask the question!
Cheers
If your camera sends text messages, that could explain why your photos are rubbish!

As young Chris stated, if you know that you wouldn't accept it, then why upload? I haven't seen it, so I can't comment on quality but from what I've read from others and yourself, its not looking good!

Quoting JeffM (Reply 1): O.k. You just heard it from me. I doubt it will make it.

Here. I'll spell it out for you.
The only way this picture could get in is if the screener was asleep at the Keyboard and his/her cat jumped on it and hit the accept button..

I think you should read and accept this.. If you wouldn't accept it, don't waste your time, screeners time, and forum time..

Lets do some sexy math. We add you, subtract your clothes, divide your legs and multiply
Please ask again. Giving critique & opinions about photos people send in is a great way to learn not only 'what not to do when editing' but also discover creative new photo techniques. Would have been a great shot had it not been for the grain.

No problem, I am a big boy and hope can handle it, though I was surprised by the tone of some replies . I also thought that we all can learn by sharing not only accepted and perfect pictures but probably much more by border case (or bad) ones. Maybe it is just too hot 'down under' these days...

There is nothing wrong with asking about your photos. However, asking a "Will this get accepted" when you CLEARLY know the answer seems wasteful. Now, if you were to ask "How can I improve this photo or future similar ones so they can get into the db" would be a WONDERFUL question.

Point taken. Maybe it is more of a language problem, so please remember that we are not all native English speakers!
