hi guys. i use a 10D and try to use a second hand bought 550EX flash on it. it does not seem to work perfectly thought. i have to admit that this is the first flash i have ever worked with so i dont have much experience, so i cant compare my perhaps broken 550 with a working one. the problem is: i only get the green light which indicates that the flash is ready to go in green normal mode and in those below (portrait, landscape etc.) in those, the flash works fine as far as i can say that. in these modes though, you cant do much with shutter speed ect. in TV, AV or M, i simply dont get the green light.its like the 10d doesnt know theres a flash on the cam. i dont know whether i am too dumb to make it work (i hope) or if it is broken. ive just been to a cam shop and that guy said that the 10d was far too new for an old flash like the 550 and so only some of its functions could be used or there are some issues in the combination 10d and 550ex. however, before buying the thing, i talked to people about my plans that (i think i remember correctly) also owned both 10d and 550ex.

any comments? thanks in advance. (when doing the search, i found people talking about 550ex on the 20d, which is even newer. so i cant imagine my good old 10D being too modern  )
