Reading the manual of the camera. Try to take pics and see how they turn out and probably discuss them here. The best way is try try try and try.

Few Basics

- shoot not against the sun
- get as close to the planes as possible
- get the planes as fitting in the frame as possible

There's also a tutorlial for Photoshop downloadable on th eupload page.

Orlando,
with that type of compact camera I would concentrate to train with close shots of aircrafts. High impact shots like the one you often see on A.net are taken with DSLRs and big lenses. Not your case. So, read the manual of the camera and begin to shoot. A good guide for post process your pics is this PDF :

http://www.airliners.net/addphotos/PsProc.pdf

And very important : browse the database and learn from the other photographers.

Ciao

Guess my advice would be a bit different Orlando.

If you want to make "pictures" scrap the manual put the dam thing on auto and press the button.  Wink
If you want to make an image scrap the manual and start studying the basics of photography.  idea
Understanding the matter is always the best option regardless of the camera used.  silvermedal
And practice, practice and practice over and over again.  trophy
I am quite sure there are good books to find in your country.

Probably not the best advice for a newb. Camera manufacturers have figured out that many people are buying cameras with no idea how they work, so a lot of manuals include the basics of photography - mine does and it's a pro level camera!

Read "The Camera" and "The Negative" by Ansel Adams and you'll be much farther ahead.
