Hi,
I'm trying to find out if YYZ has any general runway patterns in terms of mainly heavies using one runway and narrowbodies another when using either the 05s or 23s?Do the US airlines tend to use one runway over another as well generally?
Thanks,Alex

It's quite hard to say. But I feel Air Canada's heavies, especially A340-300, and A340-500 are more likely using 05/23. And foreign airlines, such as, KLM, LH, BA, etc, also tend to use this runway, if possible. For US airlines, that will be a "hit and miss". If you're trying to catch a certain flight, keep listening to the arrival frequency - normally the runway assignment will be set when the pilot first time contacts to arrival, then you will have sufficient time to rush into the other runway.

Hey Hongyin, Alex and others,
I hope you don't mind I hijack this thread, but it's likely i'll be in YYZ this easter together with my dad and we would like to spend some time at YYZ, and perhaps City airport and Donsview. With the closure of the Fedex Hill (it's still closed right?) what are the good locations now? I've googled a bit, but didn't come up with much.
Furthermore, City Airport, is there anything interesting there or is it very quiet? How are the shooting locations there? (Apart from the CN tower) Same for Donsview, is it possible to shoot anything of intrest there, maybe a few new Dash 8's?
Thanks a lot,
Jurgen

Thanks Hongyin, but I guess the cargo traffic usually uses 05/23?I really want to catch a DC-8 or two this summer!
Jurgen, I dropped you a quick line with a useful link.
