Well, I had a few uploads in the queue since one week or so and today all the photos were processed. Some were accepted, some rejected for various reasons. However, I am a bit surprised that on the 2 photos of the SAA ZS-SAJ, the one I considered the "worst" was accepted and the other rejected  Sad
This one was thrown away for the following reason :
'The image quality of these photos are low'
Let you make your own opinion

Just to make sure, it is me or standards are getting higher and higher here  Smile

Well, you might need with scanner by HP flatbed S20 and that is very good slide photos and made sure that you starting using with Kodachrome 64 with 100. Made sure that you need high quality scanner and better good pictures and hope that I had my friend will helped you out. Ok? Goodnight.

OK, my views on the photo: [Please don't be 'personally insulted' by my comments  Acting devilish]

* The picture has a blue cast - the whites aren't white, especially around the cockpit area.

* Your colours look muddy, the reds and greens especially this could either be bad scanning or too much JPEG compression.

* Not enough depth of field. The picture looks odd because the wings and engines are dead sharp but fore and aft the depth of field has fallen off sharply. My guess is you had quite a wide aperture on the shot. If you don't believe me then check the cockpit window frames and the area around the tail against the detail on the wings.

* You've cut the left hand side of the wing, and some of the left elevators as well but the right side isn't similarly curtailed. My first question would be 'Why didn't you zoom back a bit [or shoot a touch earlier] to get it all in.

Also note that the standards for such "Special" planes is extremely high, as there are a lot of pictures of them. The worst is Wanula Dreaming - it would really have to be a fantastic picture to get accepted.

KingWide,

Thanks for your comments. I appreciate.
Concerning the points you raised :
- the whites are white at least on my monitor but it's maybe time I change it. I used the software that Johan recommanded to calibrate it and it was normally well tuned.
- indeed the compression was maybe too high (I wanted to save time during the upload process  Big grin
- regarding the aperture, I was in the auto mode so I can't tell you whether it was wide or not
- Finally, I was full zoom back on this shot (which is 35mm) but this spot is well known at CDG because the planes are very close. FYI, I was about 20 meters from the Jumbo at the moment of the shot (the winglets pass just over your head  Smile )

Strange, I measured the whites in photoshop and they show between 2-5% more Cyan and Yellow than Magenta and Black.

I think Charles hits it on the head though, these 'specials' are photographed by everybody and his dog and it has to be a really superb photo to get into the db these days.

I think you should get out of using the auto modes though, that way you can control your depth of field much better.

Yes,

I've found that if your pic gets marked as High Quality it goes in almost immediately and if it 'just' passes the first screening then it can just get lost for weeks. The longest wait I've had so far was about a month.

I'm confused.
