I have a week coming up in Canton and I see there is a grand total of 4 CAK photos in the database    . Does this tell me everything about the photo spots there or are there some "secret places" known only to the locals ?

There really are very few places to watch airplanes from near CAK. You may be able to get taxiing shots from the rental car lot, but loitering could get you chased off. The fence at the rental car lot is right next to the F9 gate, so you can get really close, but there is a fence and there will be baggage carts, etc. in the way.

There is a shopping center about 2 miles south (near Portage St. and Interstate 77) where you could get pictures of airplanes on final to RWY 1, but you would have to have a good lens. I suppose you could spot RWY 5/23 ops from the parking lot of the Harry London factory on the east side of the airport, but I think they are working on extending that runway, so it may not be in use. There also appears to be a dirt road on the west side of the airport where some pics on Myaviation.net were taken. I have no idea if it is still open though. Here is a link to CAK photos on MyAviation.net. There are a lot there. Contacting the photographers could get you more info.

CAK is rather dull for spotting because of the amount of hills and trees nearby. Good Luck though.

Thanks for that. Doesn't look quite as hopeless as I first thought, not that I'll have a lot of free time.
