Hi:

I just need some information from the screeners or anyone else who can help. I am not trying to be uptight and be a pain, but i am just interested in finding out how come two of my pics which have been in the Q since 21-4-07 have been "currently under screening" for the last 16 hours or so?

It is because there are batched of photos which screeners take at a time? If so the screener looking at my pics must have a huge batch and must have been sitting all night screening and is currently still screening.

Mind ya i think the screeners do a cracker of a job! I am just interested in finding out whats happening currently with my pics.

many regards
nitin

The process is that an image needs up to three screeners to say that it is High Quality before they are accepted. Occasionally images are added by one screener, sometimes two or more usually three. Sometimes they can be 'in screening' for a couple of days and the fact that they are showing as in screening means that they have been seen by one or two screeners so far.

Ohhhhh thank you Mick.

So do photos which have been passed by one or two screeners get priority or do they just go back into the Q. I mean incase say you pass my pic for HQ, does a screener come online and first try to get rid of pics that need to be passed by HQ? Or does he start lookin at other pics first or is there no such order? I am sorry if i didnt make myself clear its confusing  Smile

Thi is a simplification as there are other options but essentially....

When we log on to screen we are given options of what we screen, the HQ queue, those that have already received one or two HQs or the new, those (usually) unseen by other screeners.

Whichever we choose they are strictly by the length of time that they have been in the queue so all images steadily move forward in the queue.

The thing is, mine was a marked priority upload. What does that mean when its been 'in screening' for nearly 4 days?

It means that the screeners think your picture does not deserve the priority but it's not so obviously flawed that it would warrant a straight rejection, so it will sit in the queue until it comes its normal turn in screening.

Just sit back, relax and have a glass of Merlot...enjoy your life!

At least your priority upload is still in screening. I uploaded an accident photo for a family friend and some dweeb left it for Johan.  Smile

Ahh I see. Oh well. I can expect it to be in the process of being screened for the next 5 days then. :-P

Lol. That sucks. I wonder when he will next clear his queue?

16 hours...

...is nothing. Shat, that was considered FAST back when I was actively uploading.

A week or so was the norm.

They're doing a lot better these days.

He means 16 hours in screening. He is not talking about the amount of time in the queue. A week+ is still the norm for the queue...
