I'd like to congratulate Phil Vabre on reaching his 1000th shot into the Database.

Ever since I met Phil, which I can't really remember when, he has been a great help to me. We had a great day shooting from Melbourne Control Tower recently and I thank him for that opportunity and also for the great pictures he shares with us here.

Here, I don't even have to write it myself, Martin has already done it for me  Smile. Thanks for all the help and encouragement, Phil! Unfortunately, we didn't get to meet at Avalon this year, but there will be another day ...

I'd like the echo that. Phil's work has been an inspiration to me and many other Australian spotters. His great skills with the camera and an uncanny eye certainly set his work apart from the rest.

Congratulations Phil. Hope there will be many more to come.

PS. Do you know who the FE was on that Jetex flight?

Thank you, chaps.

I must say that, for me, the best part of being a member of the airliners.net community has been getting to know my fellow enthusiasts, especially the Aussies. I have long admired your photos and you all provide me with a constant source of inspiration to look at the world with a different eye.

Here's my favourite photo from that cold, windy day on the balcony of Melbourne Tower:

It was fitting too, and a complete fluke, that my 1,000th was a photo of a Control Tower!

Montey - I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you! All I can say is, have a look in the April issue of Airways magazine.

Thank you all again.

Philthy
