PS: The originals were from 2000, so that is not that old (Mick Bajcar already told me that older slides - i.e. before 1990 - can be screened as really old and as such are easier to be accepted with minor flaws) but there are not that many shots of these registrations in the database (so, I thought I had a chance with my cheap scanner...)
Thanks for the feedback, Jan. No, I did not use NeatImage (I don't own it and I know - from hear say - that the trial version delivers poor results). It is just my cheap (flatbed) scanner in combination with my poor editing skills that sometimes delivers acceptable results, and sometimes not...

Nice slides, but I guess the rejections are pretty spot-on this time. The pics look blurry, grainy and also a little dark. I´d give it a go with a better scanner if I were you. Any respectable Kodak (or alike brands) shop could do it and I believe it´s not that expensive.
You could ask Mick for some help, if you feel like it. I think he´s had great results with his slides, maybe he could give you some advice.
Hope it helps!

Thanks for the feedback, Lanas! In fact, Mick has given me already tremendous help and advice (sometimes I even feel embarrassed for asking too much), but as for most things in life, I can only learn it by doing, and doing again and again and learning from my mistakes (even if it takes some time... and some rejections). Good to have something like "the forum" here as well

Well, it is for me (at this moment, I - maybe more my other family members - have other priorities).
I was not really planning to start scanning my whole slide collection, since I knew I could not afford a dedicated slide scanner right now, but once you start looking at some oldies...it is like an avalanche and I just cannot stop anymore it is really contagious!
