Hello folks, im sorry for buggin everone with my tech issues, but I think this deserves special consideration. today ( 5/12/07) An Air France 747-400 diverted to Knoxville. Weather in ATL was horrible. The weather here in TYS was very hot humid and hazy. Does this photo deserve consideration? Thanks in Advance

Brad

Sorry but I doubt it.

It's definately not priority and the shot itself lacks quality. At a glance its dark and soft. Just keep in mind the amount of AF B744's in the db. Doesn't really matter where it is.

If you mean consideration in a "priority" sense, then no.

The shot is back-lit, underexposed and soft. I can't see it doing too well to be honest.

Nice catch though.

It seems that only the Aussies are up this late ha ha. where are the French folks at?  Smile I thought that since this is a special case I may get a repreive , guess not. Not too many AF 747's in the state of TN these days or in the US, unless you are in CA or NY.

well I guess I forgot to mention, I am not asking for priority, just consideration. I know the conditions were miserable here today. and I know there are plenty of photos in the db that are in the same category.

Well its 5 in the afternoon here so we're not really up late.  Smile

There's the thing though. Although its special for that specific area, there are plenty of AF B744 shots around. You really can't tell from the background that its any other airport. Keep trying though.

From what I can tell, the only thing you had to deal with is the heat as it's almost obvious that you shot that in the later part of the afternoon. It was not OVC in the afternoon like it was in the morning. I don't shoot in the afternoon on the airport because of the results you got. If I had known; I would have gone to across the street from Airport Honda. Yeap, it's cool that you got the 744 there, but that's a keeper for the personal archives. Next time you need to call me when something wierd like this is going on @ TYS!! Send me an IM for my phone #.

It doesn't look like the conditions were bad on the other side of the taxiway.

here at BNA we got a 763 and a 764.  Sad

I was checking a runway when I heard Delta 577 heavy call the tower for clearance to land. I called on frequency to verify the 'heavy' designation and was told it was a 767. I figured there was probably weather down in Atlanta. Next I heard Delta 115 heavy talking to approach control about 10 minutes later.

I will post pictures tonight when I get off work.

cool deal ,look foward to seeing the pics. i have a hand held scanner and I heard all sorts of aircraft coming in. they were using rwy 5L and 5R so I couldn't get approach shots. In all I saw the AF 747, an FL 717, delta ( song colors) 757, 2 DL 767-300, a Frontier A319, and a CO 737-500. It was an amazing sight.
