Hi AlI,

I've had this picture rejected for 'editing'. The screeners comment read 'editing in the sky.
http://www.airliners.net/procphotos/...main?filename=20070603_ab06579.jpg

As you can see, there is something that looks like strokes coming down at an angle, right to left at the left hand side of the picture, left to right at the right. If you look close, you'll see that the strokes on the left are consistent to those on the left; it seems that these are actually concentric circles with the centre in the middle of the picture (before it was cropped). The original unedited picture doesn't show this effect, so it must have happened during editing.

How I missed this before uploading is beyond me  Sad ...

The thing is, I don't know what caused this effect. I don't remember every step I took while editing this picture. I most definitely didn't use the cloning tool  Smile ... Have anyone encountered anything like this, and if yes, what could have caused it?

Cheers,
Andrei

Hi Andrei

Looks like a not so careful use of the healing tool to me. You might be able to save it from this file, but I´m positive that if you try again from scratch, you´ll be able to avoid the problem.
Hope it helps. Big grin

Cheers  thumbsup

No, Lanas, no healing tool this time. There simply was no need for it - it was a clear blue sky, no dust spots either. It could only be something I had applied to the whole image.

Cheers,
Andrei

Well, that´s strange. It looked like the traces of the healing tool, at first glance. I can´t think of anything that might have caused this, sorry.  Confused
If you say that the original doesn´t have this problem, then you should give it a go from scracth, IMO.
Good luck with it.  thumbsup

Cheers

Did you use any S/H? Sometimes improper use can create strange effects like that. The sky also looks rather grainy, which shouldn't be the case for clear blue sky like that...

With the concentric circles being near the corners, it kind of looks like the anti-vignetting tool in ACR went awry...

Spot on, Bill! I thought this picture had its corners a bit vignetted, so I played with the Lens Correction filter that has the anti-vignetting tool. I've just tried and yes, that's what it does at certain settings.

Live and learn  Smile ...

Thanks everyone for your input!

Cheers,
Andrei
