I m not quite sure but I have something in mind, that it happened before to someone and it turned out that it was a problem with the colourspace he uploaded the pictures in... I think he solved it with uploading them in sRGB and not AdobeRGB as he did..
But as I said I m not quite sure, but maybe just try it...

Hope it helps!

Björn

I also had this effect yesterday on one of two photos. Both with sRGB. I had to delete the photo from the queue because I thougt it wouldnt have any chance to get accepted as it looked totally different from the original and would get a bad color rejection. I allways use sRGB on my photos.

I experienced the same thing about 18mths ago. Specifically, the colour and contrast was altered after uploading - the picture was slightly darker as a whole, and the greens were all over the place. I never figured out what caused it - renaming the file, then re-uploading it cured the problem. I haven't bothered to search, but I wrote a topic about it at the time.

Quoting Pashnin (Reply 6):

How can i do this?

take a screen shot of it, and put it onto photobucket or something and use the HTML link that they give you and copy and paste that on to the message on A.net and when you press preview post you will see your photo.

p.s take a screen shot by downloading this: http://www.simradar.com/File/2791/FSScreen_Version_1_1.html and then prees PRTSC or print screen but make sure you have opened the little box thing that says " most recent photo" then minimize it and take your photo and when you look in the folder it should be there. like this:

Well, you said they are different from pictures you have uploaded. Upload the original files to your profile, like you have done for your AN225 shot, and post links to the uploaded shots.

Where is the a.net copyright bar? We need to see the actual file as created by the A.net scripts...

The second picture is created by the a.net scripts...
I uploaded it into my profile (as recommended above) and it shows the same effect as if the photo has been uploaded to the screening queue. The only difference is the copyright bar wich is not included in the profile picture. This picture must also be located on the a.net server I guess. When you click on the picture the browser opens this link:

http://www.airliners.net/uf/536887390/1181242966C3HJ9J.jpg (here you can see the filename)

I hope this helps. If not I can upload the picture again into the screening queue.

As Jan points out above, the two images you have posted are indeed different. Here are the two images, layed on top of each other, in Photoshop.

They are clearly different. We need to see the exact images to be able to troubleshoot this.

Big version: Width: 1200 Height: 800 File size: 721kb

If you want to edit a photo in Photoshop, and then upload it, feel free to do so. Just put a note in the "Comments to Screeners" section.

you are right! Hm... I dont understand this - how can the crop being changed by the upload scripts this way? I have uploaded exactly the same picture to the screening queue again right before writing these lines but the effect does not occur this time... It seems that my samples are no longer reproducable. Perhaps Pashnin can provide a sample from him.

I'm here Yevgeny. I have to sleep you know Big grin I also have a life away from this website, believe it or not.

I will be looking at your photos later today.

But I do have a quick question. Can you place the original, edited file somewhere that it can be seen? All your two above posts to is compare a rejected A.net photo to an accepted JetPhotos photo. I need to see the file as it was, before it was uploaded.

Comparing the A.net version to the JP version is meaningless. It would appear JP is using a more aggressive compression algorithm on your photos, as they are about 10% smaller in file size.

Yevgeny,
I made a composite of your 2 images and yes the colour difference is noticeable. The on in your user profile has the colour profile ADOBE RGB (1998) embedded.

Here is the composite (click on it for the big version)

Have a read here:

http://www.gballard.net/psd/go_live_..._profile/embeddedJPEGprofiles.html

You want sRGB not Adobe RGB.

Your camera should be set to sRGB, and in Photoshop you want Edit> Color Settings> then set your RGB working space to sRGB IEC61966-2.1

and under Color Management Policies set RGB to Off

25 Pashnin : Javibe and Silver1SWA you need more work with your eves))))) I really wonder you didn't notice any difference
26 F9Widebody : Looks no different here, either.....I'm using a mac, though...don't know if that makes a difference. Peter's certainly showcases a difference, but I
27 Pashnin : F9Widebody plane is same)))) pay more attention to color of Sky, flowers and Grass
28 Post contains images Javibi : I ask again. Do you see any change of color anywhere here? Half is one picture and half the other... I do not see any difference.
29 Pashnin : Again??? Javibi did you see a stripes on the Peter SAMPLE???????????????? Peter make a nice sample to see the difference to people who didn't see that
30 F9Widebody : What we've established is that the images appear different on some computers (Peters, Yours), but not on others (mine, Javier's, or Silver1's).
31 Pashnin : May be something wrong with my Mac but in my office a got another 5pc! all of them wrong????))
32 Silver1SWA : No, I do not... That seems to be the case. And further, I DO see a difference in color on Peter's edit of your photos embedded together. I see it onl
33 Chukcha : They look the same on mine, too.[Edited 2007-06-13 16:55:08]
34 SFO2SVO : i am guessing that the 2 JPEGs have different profiles and those who see the difference use JPEG viewers (browsers) which disregard the embedded profi
35 Gerardo : I opened both files in Photoshop CS2 on WInXP, did the same as Peter ..... nothing! Zilch! NADA DE NADA!! No difference whatsoever. Gerardo
36 Javibi : And I would keep on asking until A) You answer my questions (you did not) or B) I get bored of you not answering (most likely). I was trying to help
