I know someone selling a Sigma 24mm f1.8 if you're interested. Slightly used but in very good shape.

I'm more concerned with he focal length. I would prefer to have a prime lens but on a 1.6 body a 24mm is nearly a 40mm. Anything wider is quite expensive. are there any good Sigma or other primes?

Quoting FXfan (Reply 4): are there any good Sigma or other primes?
I've been using a Canon 24-85mm and found it to be a little long at the short end on a 350D so I've just purchased a Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM and can vouch for its optical qualities, its very sharp. Refer to the discussion on this thread:

Dazbo's advice is quite good. I'd go with that option, altough, if you do end up wanting a prime, my friend's willing to hold onto the lens for another week, so you have time to make up your mind. Make sure you don't make a hasty decision, which I'm glad to say it doesn't seem like you're doing.
