I'm very happy with my Canon EF 70-200 F4l USM, but dream about owning one 100-400L IS USM.

Hi,

70-200 f/4L or 100-400 f/3.5-5.6 L. I have both and both are very good lenses.

Forget 75-300 or 70-300!

Like everyone else, 100-400L IS would be the best. If not that go for the 70-200 f/4L. Dont get the 70-300 or 75-300.

I got the 70-200 f/4L until I could afford the 100-400LIS. Both perform wonderfully, but go for the 100-400 now if you have the money.

Yes, have them both, got the 70-200 f/4L before the 100-400L IS, a very good start. However started with the 70-300 IS, but I'm sooo glad I sold it!

I'm thinking about getting the exact same gear. If you dont mind, could you please tell where are you getting it and for how much, inlcuding shipping charges? I'm trying to get good deals on this, and I can only get it here (P.R.) like for $900 (body/kit lens).

Many thanks

Javier.

Also, if you think you might need a little more focal length than 200mm, you should look into Canon's 1.4x extender. I initially used that with my 70-200 before purchasing the 100-400. Good luck with the purchase!
