Hi

Please comment on these 2 photos. I know the sun isnt at the best angle on the SW shot. It only got rejected for image quality, not esthetics.

The comair shot got rejected for both but esthetics because it was severely crooked. A simple rotate fixed that.

Also note that in both the shots i uploaded, i extremely mishandled the 'unsharp mask' filter. For the improved versions of both shots i just did 2 sharpens.

I scanned the SW shot at 600DPI and the Comair at 300DPI. Both were resized to 1024 wide.

I will add that in the Comair shot, i had less than 2.5 seconds to compose and shoot between when it turned how i wanted it, and when it parked and the maintainence crew jumped out with the baggage carts, cones, etc.

I hope to get to the airport for at least 3/4 the day soon.

Thanks in advance,
C. Wassell

The Comair shot was rejected? It looks pretty good to me, except maybe that it could be sharper but you can use your photo editing program to add a little sharpness.

The SW pic is good too..it shows the whole plane, but I think its also a little blurry. Maybe could use a little sharpness.

But the pics are very large at 1024x659. I like to go with a size of 800x600. Also, there's a lot of sky in the southwest pic. All you'd have to do is crop it a little vertically and sharpen it up.

anyone else see anything wrong?

Sharpness needs enhancing, but the colour, esp. in the 2nd shot is off - the tarmac looks positively purple on my screen. If this looks OK on yours, you might want to look at your monitor settings ... perhaps this has been a problem all along - what you see is fine, but what everyone else sees is slightly different!

Anyway, try shifting the MIDTONES in the 2nd shot towards green. I think the first shot might benefit from a little of this as well.

Cheers,

Colin
