It's a great pleasure to announce that my a.net friend David Lednicer has just broken through the epic one thousand photos barrier. Dave is one of the site's unsung database editors, which must take seas of his time, and doesn't make getting 1,000 photos accepted any easier in any way. At over 1.5 million views, he's now a member of the '1000 x 1000 Club', which is also worth mentioning, even though it's less and less exclusive I suppose.
This is David's #1000.
Like myself, David loves old planes and plane museums, the further off the beaten track, the better. This is one of his most popular shots, from a place of which I have fond memories myself.

Thank you! I've learned a lot along the way.
I'd like to thank airliners.net for reviving my old hobby. I had come to question why I was taking pictures that would be shown maybe a half dozen times, but airliners.net has given me an outlet for my pictures.
For the record, here is the equipment I've used:
Miranda-Sekor SLR, shooting Ektachrome 400: 29 pictures
Chinon SLR, shooting Ektachrome 400: 44 pictures
Canon F-1 SLR, shooting Ektachrome 400: 19 pictures
Pentax WRQ 70-105, shooting Ektachrome 400 and Provia 400: 46 pictures
Canon PowerShot A20: 11 pictures
KonicaMinolta Dimage Z5: 70 pictures
Canon PowerShot S2 IS: 77 pictures
Canon PowerShot S3 IS: 704 pictures
A little math shows that in the 1261 days between my first and 1000th acceptance, I've averaged slightly less than .8 acceptances a day. I apologize to the screeners for the crappy pictures I've submitted and the indignant appeals, especially in the beginning. As I said, I've learned a lot. Maybe now I'll finally buy a DSLR.

Thanks! Getting to and from Hana is always a challenge and it was nice to fly there that time with my friend Al (I think that's his face reflected in the mirror on the dash). I've driven to Hana three times, going early in the morning via the famous zillion bridges on the Hana Highway (to avoid traffic) and coming home via the back way (which is technically in violation of the rental car agreement). Each time, I've kept an eye out for the remote churchyard where Lindbergh's grave is and each time, I've missed it. Someday I'll find it...
I'll have to take a trip there one day and look myself...you know, when I'm rich and famous and not wearing green pants and yellow shirts. I won't be swimming there though.
