I had this one rejected for category. I ticked dark seeing as the pic was taken right around sunset. Should i have not ticked dark?

This shot should not be categorised as "DARK". Lots of threads were talking about this topic lately. You could search them and get more detailed explanation.

Nope, you shouldn't have. You can clearly see the sun is still out.

Night/dusk/dawn = No sun visible
