Is This Helicopter Pic A.net Worthy?

Hi!

Yesterday I made this picture slightly against the sun. The backdrop is totally white therefoe but for some reason the chopper turned out ok.

Any comments so far? The backdrop is boring I know. It's actually not there. Makes it the pic unique? Maybe a stupid thought. Anyhow. Your thoughts are welcome.

Stephan

Stephan,

The sky isn't white - it looks pink and the aircraft is too far in the distance.

Pink!? Hum. Love is in the air. Ok. I'll try an edit. A bit more contrast should turn pink into white.

Hi Stephan

The helicopter is in the distance. You have to crop it tighter. And some sharpening is needed. Because this photo is a bit backlit, it will be hard to get contrast right (now the helicopter looks dark). If simply bumping up the brightness, you could find the sky will be overexposed.

Oh, yes, the sky's colour is slightly off. It looks a little pink to me.

Hi again

Your second version looks unbalanced. The soft and contrast problems are still.

Stephan, as you already noted yourself the photo was taken against the sun and that killed it. The background is so bright it hurts when looking at it.
The chopper while ok is still soft/blurry.
While the picture is not for here it might perfectly well serve other purposes (e.g. ads) where the lack of background is required.

Thierry
